My friend says its in Edinburgh but I am not sure. I think it’s somewhere around North England. We can visit it by winning contests plus, we get 2 nights with the crew too!
Some of it was filmed in Alnwick castle in Northumberland. These are the costs for 2007
Daily Ticket
Adult - £9.00
Concession - £8.00
Child - £4.00
Child under 5 years - free
Family - £24.00
Next door to the castle is Alnwick Gardens which are beautiful.
It was filmed in many locations as are so many films. In the first film they used Kings Cross in London for a platform, then the steam train is shown using the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway (in particular the Hole of Horcum is recognisable though in reality the castle is not there behind it in the distance.
I know some (or all) scenes inside the school were shot in a castle in Northumberland but cannot remember which one (& there are lots there). I have no idea where the village shots were but I would guess a film set - likewise with Diagon Alley, Gringots etc.
There are websites that have loads of information on Harry Potter, both books & films. Just try a search for Harry Potter Film Locations.
personally I am glad the films wee shot in numerous locations - kind of goes with the theme of being all around but not noticed by muggles!
he was shot in the rs but will make a good recovery
Alnwick castle is indeed used for Hogwarts and well woth the visit. Hagrid was out and it was the school holidays or everyone was in the room of requirement when I went unfortunately.
Have they shot him? Well Praise the Lord for that!
